PLEASE NOTE: Once you have registered and paid, we will get a bike ready for you.
If you complete the form by the 7th of October, your hire bike will be ready to collect 12th October 2024 from Manukau Velodrome, at the opening of the Auckland Track Cycling season. If you pop your form through later than that, no problem, we'll let you know when your bike will be ready to collect.
- Once you have completed the registration process and made your payment, you will be sent an email informing you when to collect the bike.
- Only complete the Parent/Caregiver information if the rider is younger than 18 years old.
There are Coached Track Skills Training sessions to develop velodrome racing skills for riders who are new to track. These sessions will run on a Saturday from 9am-11am. Please check the CALENDAR for more details on fees and start date for these sessions.
THE AGREEMENT
Auckland Track Cycling (a subbranch of Counties Manukau Cycling) will rent a Track Bicycle for your use on the following terms and conditions:
1. The rental period is from October 2024 to the end of March 2025. Unless otherwise agreed the bicycle is to be returned to the Manukau Velodrome at the end of the hire period. There may be an exception for those who require an extension in the bike hire for Secondary Schools Track Champs that occurs in July, please contact us if you require this extension.
2. The rental for the season is $250 and is payable before the bicycle is made available to you. This needs to be paid into the following account prior to picking up the bike.
Bank Account: 01-0403-0163779-00.
IMPT: Please place the Riders Name in the Particulars field along with reference TRACK BIKE.
3. The bicycle is your responsibility and you must make good any loss or damage.
4. You may only use the bicycle at a Velodrome or on a wind trainer or rollers.
5. It is expected the rider will attend training sessions and progress to racing on Tuesday nights. There is also the opportunity to ride at other events during the track season.
6. If you ride for a school which is affiliated with Cycling New Zealand you can take part in Tuesday Night Racing on your school license. You will be expected to take out a racing membership with Cycling NZ RTX (Road, Track and Cyclocross) in order to take part in any Centre level events or higher (e.g. Auckland Track Champs, Waikato/Bay Of Plenty Track Champs or National Track Champs).
7. Auckland Track Cycling will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage suffered by you or any other person in connection with the use of this bicycle. It is the rider’s responsibility to check the bicycle every time before riding it.
8. The track bicycle you hire is worth approximately $700. Most insurance policies will not cover a bicycle when racing. This is a risk you take and damage incurred while racing is your responsibility.
9. Any additions to the bicycle like sprockets, chain rings, chains and aero bars are your responsibility but the bicycle needs to be returned in the same condition as when you received it.
10. The hirer (or a parent if the rider is under 18) is encouraged to join the Auckland Track Cycling Facebook group as this is a mechanism for information delivery.
11. The track bicycle is supplied without pedals, you will need to provide clip in pedals and suitable cycling shoes.
